A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized Tuesday after being stabbed during a disturbance near a Walmart in Sanger, police said.
Sanger police said officers were dispatched to the Walmart at about 4 p.m. following reports of a disturbance involving numerous people.
When officers arrived, they found the 16-year-old suffering from injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The teen told officers he had been stabbed.
Investigators determined the stabbing occurred on Bethel Avenue south of Jensen Avenue, police said.
The victim was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Police said the suspect is known to the victim but remained outstanding Tuesday afternoon. No description or other information about the suspect was provided.
The scene remained closed as detectives continued investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
