San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York pleaded no contest Monday to two misdemeanor charges after he was arrested in Ohio on suspicion of engaging in prostitution, TMZ reported.
York was arrested Sunday in East Palestine and booked into the Columbiana County Jail before posting $5,000 bond, according to TMZ.
Prosecutors later amended the original engaging-in-prostitution charge to misdemeanor disorderly conduct. York pleaded no contest to that charge as well as a misdemeanor count of possessing criminal tools.
A judge sentenced York to one day in jail on each count, to be served concurrently, and gave him credit for time already served. He was also ordered to pay $1,150 in fines.
WKBN, which TMZ said first reported the arrest, reported that York’s cellphone was ordered returned to him while $160 seized in the case was forfeited to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force.
York became president of the 49ers in 2008 and is the franchise’s majority owner.
