A second suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old in Fresno has been arrested in Oakland, police said Thursday.
Jaheim Packard, 16, was arrested Wednesday by the U.S. Marshals Service and booked into the Fresno Juvenile Justice Campus on suspicion of murder, according to the Fresno Police Department.
The shooting occurred about 10:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at an apartment complex near Ninth Street and Bulldog Lane. Officers found a 17-year-old boy who had been shot multiple times. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
Police have not released the victim’s name, identifying him only as a 17-year-old Fresno resident.
Homicide detectives previously arrested London West, 20, of Fresno, on Sept. 17 in connection with the killing. He was booked into the Fresno County Jail.
Police said Denim McVey, 18, remains at large and is wanted in connection with the murder investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing. Fresno police said they would not provide additional details or interviews at this time.
