A man was stabbed Tuesday afternoon in Visalia, prompting a police investigation and a warning for people to avoid the area.

Visalia Police Department officers responded at 3:24 p.m. to the area of East Noble Avenue and South Lovers Lane after receiving a report of an assault.

When officers arrived, they found a male victim who had been stabbed, police said.

The scene remained active Tuesday afternoon as officers continued investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.

Police asked drivers and others to avoid the area of East Noble Avenue and South Lovers Lane and use alternate routes if possible.

No additional information was immediately released about the victim’s condition or what led to the stabbing.
