Clovis Unified School District Superintendent Eimear O’Farrell will deliver her annual State of the District address Friday morning, not in front of hundreds of people munching on breakfasts in the Clovis Veterans Memorial District building, but in an online event.
This time around, you’ll need to supply your own cup of coffee.
The event, which is sponsored by the Foundation for Clovis Schools, can be viewed at cusd.com/StateOfTheDistrict starting at 8 a.m.
O’Farrell’s message will include highlights from the online back-to-school launch of the school year and plans to return to in-person instruction.
The State of the District is traditionally part of the foundation’s Superintendent’s Breakfast, a fundraiser that had to go virtual this year because of restrictions on public gatherings resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.
Foundation Collects Check
At the breakfast, Granville Homes usually presents a donation for tickets sold by the foundation in Granville’s Annual Home of Hope Giveaway. Granville recently gave the foundation a check for $84,611 for this year’s efforts, the district announced.
“Thank you to those who purchased tickets in this drawing through the foundation and a special thank you to Granville Homes for its outstanding commitment to the community and support of students,” foundation chairman Michael Fennacy said.
