Fresno firefighters answered an unusual call for help Tuesday afternoon after an exotic pet bird named Rocky escaped and became stuck in a backyard tree.

Someone knocked on the door of Fresno Fire Station 13 asking firefighters for help getting Rocky down, according to the Fresno Fire Department.

Rocky had flown from his home and taken up temporary residence in the tree.

Firefighters safely brought the bird down and reunited him with his owner.

The department described the rescue as an uncommon call for service but part of a day’s work for its firefighters.
