Kern County sheriff’s detectives are asking the public for information in the unsolved killing of a 25-year-old man whose body was found near Boron in 2022.

Deputies found Larry Christy Jr. dead about 8 p.m. Sept. 11, 2022, on a remote dirt road about one mile north of Boron, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office said. Homicide detectives responded and took over the investigation.

Investigators suspect Christy was killed sometime between the night of Sept. 10 and the morning of Sept. 11, 2022.

Detectives are asking anyone who was with Christy during that period, or who has information about what happened, to come forward.

People who previously spoke with law enforcement are also encouraged to contact investigators again if they remember additional details.
