An injured rock climber was airlifted to safety after falling while scaling Power Dome at Courtright Reservoir, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team responded Friday along with the California Highway Patrol’s Air Unit from Paso Robles after the man badly injured his foot in the fall.
One sheriff’s deputy made his way down to the injured climber and secured him for the aerial rescue.
CHP’s H-70 helicopter then lowered another deputy to help connect the climber to the aircraft’s hoist.
The helicopter crew lifted the man from the area and flew him to waiting medics for treatment.
