Thirty-five Fresno and Madera area families will receive down-payment help to go from renting to owning a home, but applicants must act quickly.
The Beyond Housing Foundation, the fundraising affiliate of Fresno Housing, said Monday that it has received $250,000 from U.S. Bank to continue the OpenHome Down Payment Assistance Program.
Through this initiative, qualifying applicants may receive up to $10,000 to assist with their down payment.
Application Period Underway
The application period opened Monday and will continue until the funding is exhausted.
“By helping 35 local families buy their first home, OpenHome is proving that removing the down payment barrier directly fuels economic mobility and community stability. With the support of our partners at US Bank, we were able to turn nearly $500,000 in assistance into more than $11.2 million in local home purchases, said Tiffany Mangum, executive director of the Beyond Housing Foundation.
Fresno Housing serves nearly 50,000 residents throughout Fresno County, and its foundation works to provide economic empowerment opportunities that extend beyond housing.
Eligible applicants must meet program requirements.
