Visalia police arrested two men after separate narcotics investigations led to the seizure of methamphetamine and evidence of suspected drug sales, the department said.
The Visalia Police Department Narcotics Unit, with assistance from the HOPE Team, served a search warrant Tuesday at about 10 a.m. at a residence in the 3200 block of East Cathie Court.
During the search, detectives located about one-quarter pound of methamphetamine along with evidence indicating narcotics sales, police said.
Richard Garcia, 55, was arrested and booked into the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Detention Facility on narcotics-related charges and outstanding warrants.
In a related investigation, narcotics detectives and the HOPE Team contacted Richard Dewitt, 51, near Ben Maddox Way and Mineral King Avenue. Police said Dewitt was found with methamphetamine believed to be possessed for the purpose of sales.
Detectives later served a search warrant at Dewitt’s residence in the 3000 block of East Meadow Avenue, where they located additional methamphetamine and evidence consistent with narcotics sales, according to police.
Dewitt was arrested and booked into the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Detention Facility on narcotics-related charges.
