Highway 165 at Westside Boulevard in Hilmar is closed following a major traffic collision involving a semi-truck and a box truck, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Emergency personnel are at the scene assisting those involved, removing the vehicles and investigating the crash.

The closure will remain in place while first responders work at the scene. Drivers are advised to avoid the area, use alternate routes and expect delays.

The CHP said updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
