GV Wire’s Edward Smith spoke with KMPH Fox 26 “Great Day” anchor Kim Stephens about a ruling Tuesday from a San Francisco judge overturning Attorney General Rob Bonta’s ban on blackjack.

On Tuesday, Judge Richard Darwin said Bonta’s Bureau of Gambling Control overstepped its authority when it banned blackjack and other player-dealer games statewide in February.

Now, cardrooms and several California cities are celebrating the ruling saying it will preserve jobs and tax revenue. An estimated 20,000 Californians work in cardrooms, and the industry generates $730 million in wages annually.
