The Fresno Police Department conducted a focused enforcement operation targeting known street-racing locations throughout the city Sunday evening, resulting in dozens of citations and several arrests.
The department’s Motors Unit stopped 77 vehicles during the operation and issued 60 citations, according to police.
Officers also towed seven vehicles, made two state referrals, and arrested seven people on misdemeanor charges. The department also reported that they made five DUI arrests.
Police said some locations saw moderate car club activity, while other crowds dispersed after officers arrived. Authorities said some groups gathered without any reckless driving activity.
