A stolen vehicle pursuit that began Friday morning ended with two arrests after Visalia Police Department officers attempted to stop a 2013 Honda Accord that had been reported stolen overnight, according to the Visalia Police Department.

Officers first responded around 7:47 a.m. after receiving a report of the stolen vehicle, but before they arrived, the owner located the Honda parked near Lovers Lane and St. Johns Parkway with two people inside.

When officers attempted a traffic stop as the vehicle was later seen traveling northbound on Ben Maddox Way, the driver failed to yield and led police on a pursuit westbound into rural areas, where the vehicle became disabled after striking a barbed wire fence.

The driver, identified as Ramiro Espindola, 31, fled on foot into an orchard before being taken into custody, and a passenger, Angelina Grajiola, 38, was also arrested.

Espindola was booked on multiple felony charges, and Grajiola was cited for possession of a controlled substance.
