At least one person was injured in an apparent exchange of gunfire late Saturday in Sanger, police said.

Sanger police officers responded just before midnight to the area of J Street and Almond Avenue after receiving reports of shots fired.

Information gathered during the initial investigation indicated an apparent exchange of gunfire occurred, according to the Sanger Police Department.

At least one person was struck by gunfire and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Police did not provide information on the person’s condition.
