The application period to get a portion of The Wonderful Company’s $1 million in grants is now open, running through Aug. 31.

As part of its Wonderful Central Valley Community Grants program, the farming giant has made available funding to area schools and nonprofits.

Across the decade the program has run, it has helped 172 nonprofits and 175 schools in the San Joaquin Valley.

“For more than a decade, Wonderful Community Grants have reflected our enduring commitment to the Central Valley by supporting local nonprofits that best understand the region’s unique challenges and opportunities,” said Andy Anzaldo, chief operating officer of corporate social responsibility with the company.

Grants Run Between $1,000 and $50,000

Grants run between $1,000 and $50,000 for nonprofits between Kern County and Fresno County. Up to two $100,000 grants will be awarded.

Areas of focus should surround youth enrichment, education, community health, domestic violence, arts, economic advancement, legal aid, park access & sustainability.
