The nomination deadline is approaching for the Marjaree Mason Center’s 41st Annual Top Ten Professional Women and Leading Business Awards.

MMC is a local nonprofit focused on assisting adults and children impacted by domestic violence and encouraging healthy relationships. The awards highlight the possibly unknown achievements and dedication of those who have raised the bar in their professions and enhanced the lives of others.

“This award ceremony is really special because honorees are nominated by their peers in the community who firmly believe in their deservingness of such an accolade for their work,” said Ashlee Wolf, the group’s director of philanthropy and communication.

The nomination deadline is 5 p.m. Thursday, June 27. You can download a submission packet and turn it in at this link.

Celebrating Local Women Leaders

Professionals who have made notable contributions in their fields of work and positively impacted the community will be celebrated at a signature lunch-in event in October. The center will recognize ten women and one business. In past years, this has included CEOs, police sergeants, city managers, and women in many other important roles.

“We’re expecting 1,500 people that are coming together to acknowledge these women and the one leading business and congratulate them and celebrate them in really a community gathering that’s just very special,” Wolff said. “For us, it’s a very exciting event and one that is true to the spirit of the Fresno community.”

The event not only acknowledges remarkable individuals and organizations but also serves to inspire others and promote leadership, excellence, and community service. In addition, there will be a keynote speaker discussing domestic violence, the center’s main focus, and raising awareness.

“Our goal in that keynote speaker presentation is that someone walks away with a little bit more education than they had coming in about domestic violence, how common it is in our community, and what we can all do to be a part of the solution,” said Wolff.

Honorees are expected to be announced the first week of August.
