A man sought in connection with the theft of two bicycles worth about $2,000 was arrested Thursday after a Visalia Police Department social media post helped authorities identify him.

Police said the man was identified shortly after the department featured him in a “Wanted Wednesday” post, and Property Crimes detectives arrested him Thursday.

The department thanked community members who shared the post, recognized the man, and provided information to detectives.

Police said the theft occurred during the early morning hours at a home in the 2500 block of West Delta Avenue.

The man was suspected of using bolt cutters to steal two bicycles from the property.

Police did not release the man’s name or provide information about the charges he faces.
