Tulare County Alpaugh Fire Grows to 3,600 Acres, 30% Contained

A wildfire burning near Alpaugh in Tulare County had grown to 3,600 acres and is 30% contained late Wednesday, according to fire officials.

The Alpaugh Fire was active near Avenue 42 and Road 38 as of 11:32 p.m. Wednesday. The fire started earlier Wednesday, and its cause remained under investigation.

Evacuation warnings were in effect for zones TLC-E275-A, TLC-E275-B and TLC-E298.

Officials did not report figures for structures threatened, damaged or destroyed.
