Fresno County Employee Stabbed at Courthouse Park, Suspect Arrested

A suspect was taken into custody Thursday afternoon after a Fresno County employee was stabbed at Courthouse Park in downtown Fresno, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

The stabbing was reported at 1:13 p.m. Deputies assigned to the courts responded to the park to help the victim and search for the suspect.

At 1:16 p.m., deputies took the suspect into custody near Fresno Street and Van Ness Avenue. Deputies deployed a Taser while taking the suspect into custody.

The victim, identified only as a male Fresno County employee, was taken to a hospital. He was conscious, breathing and talking when he was transported by ambulance.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities are working to determine a possible motive for the stabbing.
