Local filmmakers will see their work on the big screen Friday after racing against the clock to create short films in just three days.
Community Media Access Collaborative will host its 72-Hour Film Race Screening on Friday at Maya Cinemas, 3090 E. Campus Pointe Drive in Fresno. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the program beginning at 7 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public. Click here to reserve your spot.
The screening is the culmination of CMAC’s 72-Hour Film Race, a filmmaking challenge that asks participants to produce short films within three days. Filmmakers were required to incorporate specific prompts and props into their projects while working under the competition’s tight deadline.
Thirty-two films were submitted by the deadline and will be featured as part of the screening.
Winners will be announced at the end of the program, with prizes awarded in Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories. A separate Youth Division will recognize emerging filmmakers.
Organizers describe the event as a celebration of local storytelling, creativity and community, as well as the filmmakers’ ability to produce meaningful work under pressure.
