Visalia’s Saturday farmers market is assuring customers that it is not closing following confusion over the shutdown of a separate downtown farmers market.
Visalia Farmers’ Markets said in a social media post that the Saturday Farmers Market is a different organization from the Downtown Visalia Certified Farmers Market, which operates Thursday evenings at North Church and East Main streets.
The downtown Thursday market is closing, but the Saturday market will continue operating every week, organizers said.
“We know there’s been a lot of confusion in our community over the past few days, so we wanted to clear things up!” organizers wrote.
The Saturday Farmers Market operates year-round from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. behind the courthouse in Visalia.
Organizers encouraged residents to continue visiting the market and supporting local farmers, vendors, and small businesses.
“So, don’t worry — your Saturday farmers market is still here!” organizers wrote.
