Fresno Mission is inviting YouTuber, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast, to participate in its annual Conversations on a Bench event this October.

“Every year, this bench becomes a place where walls come down. We’d be honored to have someone with MrBeast’s reach and heart for generosity sit with us, even for a little while, and hear these stories directly from the people living them.” — Matt Dildine, CEO, Fresno Mission

The hope is that he will witness firsthand the impact of homelessness on families and children in the Fresno community.

MrBeast is the world’s most-subscribed individual YouTube creator and is known for high-budget videos and large-scale philanthropic projects.

The nonprofit announced Tuesday that it would like Donaldson to join Fresno Mission CEO Matt Dildine during the organization’s signature awareness event, scheduled for Oct. 8-9 at the Fresno Mission City Center.

About Conversations on a Bench

During the 24-hour event, Dildine spends a full day on a bench, holding unscripted conversations with community members, staff and the men, women and children served by Fresno Mission. The organization says the event is designed to foster understanding, dignity and stronger relationships throughout the community.

“Every year, this bench becomes a place where walls come down,” Dildine said. “We’d be honored to have someone with Mr. Beast’s reach and heart for generosity sit with us, even for a little while, and hear these stories directly from the people living them.”

According to Fresno Mission, children in its care who are familiar with Donaldson’s videos have expressed excitement about the possibility of his visiting Fresno.

Donaldson has not committed to attending, the organization said.

Fresno Mission is asking media outlets, community members and social media users to help spread its invitation before the event in hopes it reaches Donaldson. The nonprofit is encouraging supporters to share related content through its Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok accounts, all under @FresnoMission.

Conversations on a Bench is scheduled for noon Oct. 8 through noon Oct. 9 at the Fresno Mission City Center, 2025 E. Dakota Ave. in Fresno.
