A 2-year-old Doberman mix named Temu is looking for a permanent home after showing up on a rainy night seeking shelter and quickly winning over his rescuers.
Temu arrived unannounced, appearing at a home during a downpour and running inside when the gate was opened, clearly searching for safety. Since then, he has revealed himself to be a gentle and sensitive dog who thrives on companionship, enjoying time with both people and other dogs.
After completing a four-week board-and-train program, Temu now walks well on a leash, follows basic commands and settles comfortably into a crate at night. His adoption also includes two additional training sessions to help ease the transition into a new home.
While Temu can be a bit nervous in unfamiliar environments, those who know him say his affectionate personality quickly shines through once he feels secure.
Rescuers say Temu’s story is a reminder of the resilience of animals and the impact a safe, caring environment can have on a dog in need.
