Clovis police officers didn’t expect help Wednesday while cleaning up broken glass in the road.
But, they’re now publicly thanking the man who stopped to help on their social media channels. “Jose stopped & helped our officers and we wanted to say THANK YOU! We truly appreciate his assistance & support!” the Clovis Police Department tweeted.
The good Samaritan responded to that message with one of his own.
“We cannot change the world, but we can do something,” tweeted Jose Agustin Flores afterward. “The policemen were struggling to clean up what was left on the street, without thinking about it, I helped them since they also deserve our help and respect.” (translated tweet, courtesy Twitter.)
On Jose’s commute home last night, he saw our officers removing broken glass from the roadway. Jose stopped & helped our officers and we wanted to say THANK YOU! We truly appreciate his assistance & support! #OurCommunityRocks https://t.co/8UmCi5B6jy
