Fresno County Superior Court Judge D. Tyler Tharpe denied a temporary restraining order Tuesday afternoon sought by county health officials that would have closed Immanuel Schools in Reedley.
The private K-12 private Christian school opened Aug. 13 with in-class instruction, defying state and local health orders stemming from the coronavirus pandemic.
In making his ruling, Tharpe said that county health officials had failed to prove that irreparable harm would result from the school’s decision to hold on-campus classes.
Tharpe scheduled the next hearing on the issue for Sept. 15.
