Firefighters are battling a 500-acre wildfire near Highway 152 and Dinosaur Point Road in Merced County that broke out Wednesday morning and remained 0% contained, according to CalFire.
The Point Fire, reported at 11:09 a.m., is burning in the CalFire Madera-Mariposa-Merced Unit and remains under investigation.
No structures have been reported threatened, damaged or destroyed, and no injuries or fatalities have been reported.
Officials said numerous firefighting air tankers from across the state are conducting suppression operations as conditions allow.
As of Wednesday afternoon, 150 personnel were assigned to the incident, including 15 engines, three helicopters, three hand crews, two water tenders, and six additional resources.
