A dispute between neighbors at a Clovis apartment complex led to a stabbing that sent two men to the hospital and resulted in one arrest, police said Wednesday.
Officers with the Clovis Police Department were dispatched shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday to the 300 block of West Santa Ana Avenue for reports of a physical disturbance involving two neighbors.
When officers arrived, they learned one of the men had been stabbed. Police and emergency medical personnel provided medical assistance at the scene before both men were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Investigators said the altercation began as an argument and escalated into a physical fight. During the confrontation, one man stabbed the other before being knocked unconscious, according to police.
Authorities identified the suspect as Alvin Reid, 48, of Clovis. Reid will be booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after he is released from the hospital, police said.
