A 20-year-old Orosi man was convicted Friday for shootings that terrorized the Cutler-Orosi community in the summer of 2023, the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

A jury found Raul Alberto Vasquez guilty of four counts of willful, deliberate, and premeditated attempted murder, along with multiple firearm-related special allegations, officials said.
The first shooting occurred on June 27, 2023, when Vasquez allegedly drove past a group of neighbors in Cutler, shouted a gang phrase, and opened fire, striking two men who survived.

A month later on July 29, 2023, prosecutors said, Vasquez shot at another man outside a relative’s home.
The victim was able to identify him after deputies found Vasquez’s crashed sedan in a nearby orchard.

Vasquez is set to be sentenced on March 19 and faces 118 years to life in prison.
