A Tulare man was sentenced to 26 years in state prison Tuesday for sexually abusing three young girls over a span of more than two decades, the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

Frederick Guerrero, 79, pleaded no contest on Dec. 30, 2024, to 10 counts of lewd acts upon a child under the age of 14.

He also admitted to special allegations that his crimes involved substantial sexual conduct, targeted vulnerable victims, and violated a position of trust.

The crimes, which occurred between August 1999 and July 2021 in Tulare, were committed against three female victims, ages five to 12 at the time of the assaults, officials said.

Each of the charges against Guerrero is a felony and classified as a strike offense under California’s three-strikes law.

In addition to his prison sentence, Guerrero will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
