Fresno police arrested a Los Angeles man Tuesday in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 41-year-old man earlier this month.
Nathaniel Petrillo, 40, was arrested by homicide detectives on suspicion of killing Jose Alfredo Garcia, according to the Fresno Police Department. Petrillo was booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of murder.
Officers responded about 3:04 a.m. Oct. 10 to Tulare Street and Mayor Avenue after receiving a report of an injured person, police said.
Officers found Garcia suffering from a stab wound. Police and emergency medical personnel attempted lifesaving measures, but Garcia died at the scene.
Police did not provide information about what investigators believe led to the stabbing or how Petrillo was identified as the suspect.
Although an arrest has been made, detectives are continuing to seek information about the case.
