Police are asking the public to avoid the area of 16th and E streets on Thursday morning because of ongoing police activity.

The Kerman Police Department issued a public safety notice advising motorists to use alternate routes to prevent travel delays and give public safety personnel room to work safely.

Police did not provide additional information about the nature of the activity.

Drivers in the area were urged to use caution.
