Talk about good timing.
A week after an anonymous donor pledged to match gifts up to $500,000 at Community Regional Medical Center, the trust of the late Mohan and Sushila Sethi donated $50,000 Monday.

“This gift, along with the match, will have an incredible impact on how Community Regional is able to provide quality care and support to the Valley’s homeless population.” — Katie Zenovich, Community Medical Foundation CEO
With the anonymous donor match, the Sethi gift for homeless aftercare for patients discharged from the hospital doubled to $100,000.

The Sethi trust donated $200,000 to be shared by CRMC, Fresno State, Marjaree Mason Center, Poverello House, and the Ghostriderz adaptive soccer team. The trust also donated $200,000 to the Hindu Temple of Fresno.

Sethi Family’s Ties to Community Medical System

Community Medical Foundation CEO Katie Zenovich said the Sethi family gift is special because they have personal connections to the hospital system.
The Sethis’ son, JP, “understands what we do every day and expressed a sincere interest in helping those who need it the most,” Zenovich said. “This gift, along with the match, will have an incredible impact on how Community Regional is able to provide quality care and support to the Valley’s homeless population.”
Not counting medical care, Community spends more than $1 million a year to provide homeless patients with meals, clothing, transportation, shelter, medical equipment, and other items.

How to Donate

The anonymous donor will continue matching gifts for homeless aftercare until the end of January.
To make a donation and have it matched, contact Community Medical Foundation, 559 724-4343. Or, go online to communitymedical.org/donate and select the “Homeless Patient Match” designation.
