Craig Eady, the father who was critically injured in Saturday’s plane crash near Sierra Sky Park in northwest Fresno, died Monday, bringing the death toll to four.

Eady had been hospitalized with severe burns and extensive injuries after the single-engine passenger aircraft crashed into a river embankment about 200 yards beyond the end of the runway at Sierra Sky Park.

“This development emphasizes an even greater need for our community to step up and support the two surviving members of the immediate family,” Fresno City Councilmember Mike Karbassi told GV Wire. “They have lost both parents and their younger siblings. If folks can find it within themselves to provide help, now is the time to do it.”

A support campaign has been launched by friends and family of the Eady family that has raised $50,000 as of Sunday afternoon.

His wife, Danna Eady, 41, of Auberry, died from injuries suffered in the crash, authorities said Sunday. The couple’s two youngest sons, Pavel and Remus, died at the scene Saturday.

Craig Eady had initially survived the crash and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in critical condition. The fundraiser page said he had suffered severe burns and extensive injuries.

The couple also has two older children, Lucien, 17, and Felicity, 18.

The crash occurred at about 3:45 p.m. Saturday. Emergency crews found the aircraft in a river embankment and called in water rescue and Urban Search and Rescue teams.

All four people aboard the aircraft have now died.

The crash also knocked out power to about 1,700 homes and sparked a small fire that crews extinguished.

The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration were expected to investigate the crash.
