EggBred’s arrival in Clovis drew a crowd Saturday, with customers lining up out the door for the breakfast restaurant’s grand opening after a similarly strong turnout during its soft opening a day earlier.

The restaurant, which has built a following on social media for its breakfast sandwiches and other menu items, entered the Central Valley with considerable buzz. Franchise owner Varinder Singh said the response from Clovis customers exceeded his expectations.

“The support was huge,” Singh said. “The first day we opened was yesterday (Friday) for the soft opening. The line was out of the door, same like today.”

Singh’s connection to EggBred began as a customer. He said his child loved the restaurant, making EggBred a regular stop whenever the family traveled to the Los Angeles area.

“My kid loved EggBred,” Singh said. “Every time we go to L.A., we have to stop there for breakfast or lunch.”

When Singh learned the company was expanding through franchising, he saw an opportunity to bring a concept his family already enjoyed to Clovis.

“We don’t have anything like this in Clovis,” Singh said, adding that he was drawn to the restaurant’s creative food and handcrafted approach.

Singh, who said cooking is a passion of his, described the experience of opening his own location after years of visiting EggBred as a customer as surreal.

“I feel amazing, man,” Singh said. “Too excited, don’t know what to say.”

Following his interview with GV Wire, Singh said he planned to jump onto the cooking line and switch off with employees so staff members could take a break during the busy grand opening.

City of Clovis Shows Support

Clovis Mayor Vong Mouanoutoua attended the grand opening and presented Singh and his family with a certificate from the city.

Mouanoutoua said city officials were excited that EggBred selected Clovis for its first Central Valley location.

“We are just excited that EggBred has chosen Clovis to open the first location here in the Central Valley,” Mouanoutoua said.

The mayor highlighted the local ties of Singh and his family, including that their children attend area schools.

“That’s just so exciting to see them take this leap into business and to bring quality food to the city,” Mouanoutoua said.

Singh also credited the city of Clovis, including its fire and planning departments, with making the process of opening the restaurant easier.

“The process was so easy,” Singh said. “I walk in, they smile, I have a question, I get an answer.”

EggBred’s Clovis location opened at 1127 N. Willow Ave., Suite 105.

The restaurant serves breakfast sandwiches, burritos, burgers, and waffles.
