Almost a year after the Fresno hospital’s former CEO retired, Saint Agnes Medical Center has a new top executive.

Dr. Gurvinder Kaur comes to Saint Agnes by way of Adventist Health Central Valley Network, where for three years, she served as chief medical officer and vice president in Hanford.

Kaur also served as a board member of the physician group Vituity.

“Because of her background in Internal Medicine, her tenure at Vituity, a national Physician group, and leadership position at Adventist, Dr. Kaur has a deep understanding of healthcare operations, physician practice dynamics, and an understanding of strategic knowledge of the emerging trends in navigating the complex landscape of the provider side of the healthcare industry,” said Odette Bolano, president and CEO of Trinity Health West Region.

Kaur’s Extensive Health Leadership Background

Originally from India, Kaur moved to Los Angeles in 2004 and continued her medical studies at the University of Southern California. She received a master’s degree in health administration from USC and finished her internal medicine residency at Los Angeles General Medical Center.

As senior regional director at Vituity, Kaur oversaw hospitalists, post-acute care practices, and emergency department practices.

It was during her tenure at Adventist Health that the hospital network established its partnership with Visalia Medical Clinic, a major physicians group in the city.

St. Agnes’ former CEO, Nancy Hollingsworth, a registered nurse, retired in May 2023 as part of a regional leadership change for the hospital’s parent company Trinity Health.

David Spivey served as interim president following Hollingsworth’s departure.

Kaur will begin her new role on Monday.
