The Trump administration has refunded about $100 billion in tariff revenue collected under President Donald Trump’s 2025 “liberation day” tariffs after the Supreme Court struck down the duties, according to a court filing reported by CNBC.

The refunds represent about 60% of the roughly $166 billion collected under tariffs imposed through the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.

The Supreme Court ruled the law did not authorize the tariffs, and a federal judge ordered the money returned to importers.

Officials said nearly $129 billion in refunds has been accepted for processing, with additional payments still pending through the Treasury Department.
