Looking for something new to do in Fresno? Sandbox VR is bringing a different kind of entertainment to Fashion Fair Mall, inviting guests to step inside virtual worlds where they can battle zombies, cast spells, and take on adventures alongside friends and family.
Located at 639 E. Shaw Ave. #115, across from The Cheesecake Factory, Sandbox VR combines motion-capture technology, haptic vests and full-body tracking to create an immersive experience that goes beyond traditional virtual reality.
Store manager Mehakdeep Kaur said the Fresno location offers 11 experiences spanning multiple genres, including action, thrillers and family-friendly adventures. The goal: giving visitors of all ages something to enjoy.
Players Step Into Netflix’s Streaming Hits
Through a partnership with Netflix, Sandbox VR also features experiences based on popular franchises including “Stranger Things,” “Squid Game,” and “Rebel Moon: The Descent,” enabling players to step into some of the streaming service’s biggest titles.
After each session, guests receive a personalized highlight reel showing their in-game moments from a third-person perspective. Players can download the videos to a phone or share directly to social media for a keepsake of their visit.
Staff member Enrique Alvarez said the technology is designed to make players feel like they are inside the game. Motion-capture trackers record each player’s movements, while haptic vests let participants feel in-game effects. Fans inside the play areas add environmental effects like wind from helicopters or dragons to heighten the immersion.
Whether it’s a family outing, date night, birthday celebration or team-building event, Sandbox VR offers a unique indoor attraction for anyone looking to try something different in Fresno.
