Jerome Jupiocio Avilez, 60, of Visalia, was sentenced to 150 years-to-life in prison on Thursday, after being convicted of multiple counts of child molestation, the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release.

Avilez was found guilty on Sept. 3, of nine felony counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14.
The jury also determined that he committed the crimes against multiple victims and that some acts involved substantial sexual conduct.

Court records show that Avilez’s offenses took place between 2021 and 2022 and involved three female minors.
The court also acknowledged Avilez’s prior conviction for forcible lewd acts upon a child from 1988.

The case was prosecuted by Supervising Deputy DA Laura Jackson and was investigated by Visalia Police Sgt. Andrew Saelee.
