A Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy conducting patrol operations stopped a vehicle for a violation on Interstate 5 east of Coalinga and later discovered 10 pounds of methamphetamine and thousands of dollars in cash, authorities said.

During the traffic stop, K-9 Willow alerted the deputy to the odor of narcotics, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

A search of the vehicle uncovered the methamphetamine and cash.

Two men were arrested and booked into jail on charges related to narcotics possession and intent to sell narcotics, the sheriff’s office said.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the suspects’ names were not immediately released.
