Fresno Police Department officers are asking for the public’s help to solve a felony assault last month at 936 East Olive Avenue.

At approximately 2 a.m. on Aug. 26, authorities were dispatched after a caller reported an unhoused man, who was sleeping in front of Cuca’s Restaurant in Fresno’s Tower District, had been attacked.

Upon arrival, officers found the 47-year-old victim with significant head injuries. The man, who was conscious, was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.

He told officers that he had been asleep when he was suddenly awakened by repeated blows to his head.

The caller, who witnessed the incident, described seeing another adult male standing over the victim and kicking him in the head before fleeing eastbound on Olive Avenue.
