Merced Juvenile Shot Dead. Police Want Public's Help to ID Suspect.

A juvenile male was found shot and killed early Sunday morning in Merced. Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect. (City of Merced)

Authorities are investigating the shooting death of a juvenile male found early Sunday morning in Merced, according to the Merced Police Department.

At approximately 5:50 a.m. on Monday morning, the Merced Police Department received a report of an unresponsive male in the 1800 block of West North Bear Creek Drive.

Responding officers arrived to find the victim, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The juvenile was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives and crime scene personnel are canvassing the area for potential witnesses and reviewing video surveillance footage.

No suspects have been identified at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
