GV Wire reporter Edward Smith speaks with KMPH Fox 26 “Great Day” anchor Jim De La Vega about the politics impacting Proposition 47 reform in California.
Even though nearly 1 million registered voters signed a petition to put a bipartisan Prop. 47 revise on the November ballot, Gov. Gavin Newsom is thinking of complicating matters with his own version.
In addition, Democratic lawmakers have put “poison pill” provisions in recent public safety bills that would nullify the legislation if the Prop. 47 revise passes.
Confused? Perhaps that’s what Newsom and his Democratic Party allies want when voters go to the polls.
