Fresno police arrested five people on suspicion of driving under the influence Sunday night during an enforcement operation targeting known street-racing and car-meet locations across the city.
The Fresno Police Department said its Traffic Unit conducted focused enforcement after receiving reports of an unsanctioned car meet involving more than 100 vehicles.
Police said the groups dispersed as officers began taking enforcement action.
Officers stopped nine vehicles and issued 11 citations during the operation, according to police.
Five DUI arrests were reported, along with four misdemeanor cases and one felony case. Police also towed six vehicles and made one referral to the state.
Police did not provide additional information about the DUI arrests or the felony case.
