Visalia police arrested a 50-year-old man for the second time in a narcotics investigation Tuesday after detectives said they found about a pound of methamphetamine packaged for sale.

Visalia Police Department narcotics detectives served a search warrant about 10:05 a.m. at a home in the 500 block of South Jacob Street with assistance from the department’s HOPE Team and TARGET.

During the search, detectives found approximately one pound of methamphetamine packaged for sale, police said.

Robert Soto was arrested and booked on narcotics sales charges, along with an additional charge of committing a felony while released from custody in a previous case.

The arrest followed an earlier search of the same block on May 6, when the department’s Narcotics Unit, Special Enforcement Unit and TARGET served a search warrant at a home.

Detectives found approximately 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine and evidence related to narcotics sales during that search, police said.

Soto was arrested and booked on narcotics sales charges, including selling narcotics within 1,000 feet of a school. He was later released from custody without having to post bail.

Police said Tuesday’s search and arrest were part of the continuing narcotics investigation.
