Pennsylvania reported two deaths related to measles on Tuesday, the first such deaths in the state in 35 years, health officials said.

Both individuals were unvaccinated residents of Lancaster County, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

The agency did not release additional details, citing privacy concerns.

The deaths come amid a rise in measles in the state, which has confirmed 393 cases across 28 counties so far this year.
