A driver was arrested after registering blood alcohol content readings of 0.34% and 0.33%, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Visalia office.

The CHP shared the arrest as part of a reminder to motorists about the dangers of impaired driving as triple-digit temperatures return to the Central Valley.

Officials urged residents to stay hydrated with water instead of alcohol and emphasized that driving under the influence can have serious consequences.

Whether traveling to the lake, a barbecue or heading home after a night out, the CHP encouraged drivers to plan for a sober ride or designate a sober driver to help keep roads safe.
