A driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Tuesday after employees at a Dollar General store in Denair reported concerns about the person’s behavior, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP-Modesto said employees noticed a driver showing signs of impairment and contacted authorities. Officers responded to the scene, conducted an investigation and determined the driver was under the influence.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and was found to have a blood-alcohol level more than three times the legal limit, CHP said.
The agency praised the employees for reporting their concerns, saying their actions may have helped prevent a serious crash.
Authorities did not immediately release the driver’s identity or additional details about the arrest.
