The California Department of Transportation announced scheduled electrical repair operations this week that will bring a series of ramp and lane closures along Highway 99 in Fresno.

On Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., the northbound Highway 99 off-ramp at Fresno Street will be closed for electrical repairs.

A second closure is set for Thursday, from 11:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., when the northbound Highway 99 off-ramp at Clinton Avenue will be shut down for similar work.

On Friday, from 8 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., the No. 3 lane on southbound Highway 99, just south of Shaw Avenue to Ashlan Avenue, will be closed for electrical repairs.

Transportation officials said closures may last longer each day if necessary due to weather or other unforeseen delays during maintenance.

Caltrans maintenance workers are urging motorists to drive with caution, allow extra travel time and remain alert in work zones.

Drivers are also reminded to “slow for cone zones” and watch for road maintenance personnel.
