When the new Sierra Pacific Orthopedic Urgent Care opens later this month in Clovis, it will bring a doctor over from the academic world back into patient care.
On Jan. 15, the bone-and-muscle-focused healthcare providers familiarly known as SPOC will open an orthopedic urgent care at their Clovis campus, 2151 Herndon Ave., Suite 105. Sierra Pacific opened the campus in 2023.
Managing the urgent care facility is Dr. Anirudh Sharma, who specializes in orthopedic trauma. The new urgent care does not require appointments before patients are treated.
“We are so proud to grow our team and services as the orthopedic needs of our community continue to grow,” said Dr. Francis Glaser, Sierra Pacific Orthopedics practice president. “Dr. Sharma is an exceptional doctor and leader, and we are excited to have him head our new Clovis Campus Orthopedic Urgent Care and ensure our patients get the right care, right away.”
Dr. Sharma Leaving Academics to Take Up Patient Care
Sharma comes to Sierra Pacific by way of UCSF Fresno. At the school of medicine, Sharma served as curriculum lead and course director of point-of-care ultrasound and urgent care training for the family medicine residency training program.
Sharma earned his medical degree at the Government Medical College in Patiala, Punjab, India. He completed a family medicine residency at the University of Manitoba Max Rady College of Medicine in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
In Winnipeg, Sharma completed additional training in orthopedic trauma in orthopedic trauma at Health Sciences Centre and the University of Manitoba. He received adult hip and knee reconstruction training at Concordia Hospital and the University of Manitoba. He is board-certified through the American Board of Family Medicine.
Sierra Pacific opened in 2010. The new urgent care will operate Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Treatable injuries at the Orthopedic Urgent Care include:
- Bone, joint, or muscle injury that occurred within the past few days.
- Possible sprained ankle or foot.
- Possible broken bone.
- Sprained knee.
- Injury to hand, wrist, or shoulder.
- Swollen joint.
- Sports injury.
- Possible concussion.
- Recent back pain.
Doctors at Sierra Pacific serve as the official orthopedic providers for the athletics teams at Fresno State, Fresno City College, and Fresno Pacific.
